FESTIVE SEASON: NIGERIA LOOKS STRONGER AS EVER PDF
Written by The WebMaster
Hardly anyone will argue that it has recently been troubling times for the Heart of Africa - Nigeria. What with her President's ailment and medical sojourn abroad; the lingering fuel crisis and restiveness of politicians and others. However, as the Christmas celebrations and general festive season passes on, the country seems to have risen up from the challenges of those thorny issues and celebrates like the rest of the peaceful world. Once again she has shown a resilience that continues to amaze the world....

All over the country, the usual celebrations are going on and security has been tight as the traditional criminal activities seems to have ebbed. At least in Abuja, the situation is close to what you might be describe as paradise. It may not be the same in placxes like Lagos, but relatively, Nigerians are up and about with less concerns about the insecuriy that normally characterise the festive season.

STOP PRESS: NEWS ABOUT A NIGERIAN BOMBER ON US PLANE JUST FILTERED IN FROM THE BBC NEWS FEED.

How unfortunate but wait a minute! It seems that mischief makers are already positioned to make a meal out of it to smear the country's image. I can not help but pooke at some suggestions from one Laolu Akande, a US based reporter, that the incident is a shame on the country. For God's sake when the British shoe bomber emerged, no one indicted the UK. For God's sake when are we going to wake up and be a little bit mature. We must not vent our little frustrations on every thing that is Nigerian. Goodness me!

Anyway the US authorities have not given adequate details of the purported attempt. Until the picture is made clearer, let us just hold our peace. After all, according to the US justice system, even Muttalab deserves fair fearing untill proven guilty at which time he equally deserves fair punishment. For now, no one should spoil the current celebrations across the country.

HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
