ACTING PRESIDO DISSOLVES CABINET |

Information and Communications Minister, Dora Akunyili, announced the dissolution of the Executive Council of the Federation (EXCOF) after a lengthy meeting of the EXCOF, chaired by Jonathan, and during which infrastructure contracts countrywide were approved. The action of the Acting President Goodluck Jonathan was the climax of weeks of demand for it by politicians and pressure groups. However, the sack while being expected still took most of the Ministers by surprise and to underscore the Acting President’s apparent resolve to maintain order, all Ministers are expected to immediately hand over to their respective Permanent Secretaries.
